Jonathan is Co-Founder of TPLG, and has been practicing law for over 15 years with an emphasis on Intellectual Property Law and Litigation. He has extensive experience representing small and large clients from a broad range of industries, and on a variety of IP and non-IP matters. Jonathan has been recognized as a San Diego Top Attorney by the San Diego Daily Transcript, and awarded Best of the Bar by the San Diego Business Journal. Prior to founding TPLG, Jonathan worked in New York City and London for several international law firms. Jonathan has also worked in-house for a global life sciences company, and an electronics start-up focused on developing next generation computer memory chip technology utilizing carbon nanotubes.

Jonathan also has experience counseling clients on non-IP matters, including general commercial transactions, and helping clients identify and manage legal issues relating to their businesses. Put simply, Jonathan helps his clients identify, and navigate around, the “legal landmines” before they become a real problem.
Jonathan’s clients come from a broad range of industries: from pharmaceuticals, biotech and medical devices, to electrical and mechanical products and software. Jonathan also currently works with a number of clients in the Sports and Active Lifestyle/Action Sports industry, helping to ensure their brands and products are protected. Jonathan has also had the unique opportunity to work both in private practice and in-house. As such, Jonathan understands the legal needs, and expectations, of in-house counsel when working with outside counsel.
When not practicing law, Jonathan enjoys traveling, staying healthy and active, and has a particular interest in triathlons. Jonathan also has a love for dogs (particularly his Blue Heeler mix, Maddie), and has spent time volunteering with local animal shelters, and for six years with a program in New York City that raises service dogs for wounded war veterans.
