Bruce Greenhaus is a seasoned intellectual property attorney having 20+ years of experience. He has held leadership roles at major technology companies, including as the Vice President - Patent Counsel at Qualcomm, Inc. for 10 years, and as Vice President - Chief Patent Counsel at Entropic Communications.
Bruce specializes in patent preparation, prosecution, licensing, and intellectual property transactions across telecommunications, electronics, software, mechanical devices, and biomedical technologies. He has personally prepared over 500 US patent applications and has drafted numerous legal opinions.
As an adjunct professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Bruce taught patent litigation, patent claim drafting, and claim interpretation. He has served on the board of the San Diego Intellectual Property Law Association, including as president in 2000 and again in 2023, and currently sits on the boards of the Jewish National Fund's San Diego chapter and the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program.
Bruce's expertise is rooted in his background as an electrical engineer, having designed satellite earth stations and radar systems before pursuing the legal profession. He holds a JD from Hofstra School of Law and a BS in Electrical Engineering from SUNY Stony Brook. His article on compound patentability was cited in a leading patent law treatise, and he received an award for contributing to the understanding of complex legal issues.
