Yui is a recent graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering and international study experience in technology management at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She is excited to help out in matters related to life sciences, biotechnology, and medical devices and to learn about the patent law field prior to applying to law school.

During her time at UCLA she took on many research and internship opportunities including work on needle-free injection technologies, hydrogel polymer-based diagnostic devices, 3D bioprinting regenerative medicine, and Fourier Ptychography microscope imaging. She has published in the Royal Society of Chemistry and received a first place award from the UCLA Department of Bioengineering for her team’s Senior Capstone Design project. Outside of research, she led the UCLA Society of Women in Engineering as the Institutional Partnership Committee Chair to advocate for an inclusive environment for woman-identifying engineering students and participated in Engineers without Borders to help implement worldwide sustainable engineering projects.

In her free time, she enjoys figure skating, practicing yoga, and traveling.
