Daniel Park

Daniel Park

Summer Intern

daniel@torreypineslaw.com
main: +1 (858) 869-1250

Daniel is a Summer Intern at Torrey Pines Law Group®, supporting the firm's intellectual property practice while developing foundational skills in patent preparation and prosecution. He brings a background in legal research, regulatory policy, and contract drafting, grounded in direct experience with the systems that govern healthcare access and public welfare.

Daniel's peer-reviewed research sits at the intersection of regulatory law and healthcare access. His paper, "The Perpetual Struggle for Access Within Reformed Veterans' Health Systems," published in the American Journal of Student Research (Vol. 3, Issue 6, 2025), analyzed how landmark federal legislation failed to translate policy intent into care delivery for millions of veterans, drawing on GAO oversight reports and federal legislative records to trace where regulatory design breaks down. Working for members in the U.S. House of Representatives and the California State Senate, he conducted constituent casework for veterans without housing and families facing eviction, gaining firsthand understanding of how the distance between legislation and implementation is measured in human lives. He has also applied his legal skills commercially, drafting and revising business agreements and reviewing NDAs as an intern at Draftwise.

Daniel served on the Poway Unified School District’s Superintendent Student Advisory Council, representing more than 35,000 students across 41 K-12 schools and advising the Board of Education on policy issues including student wellness and curriculum reform. He is also the founder of Gentle Keys, a student-run organization he built into a 50-member ensemble providing weekly performances and one-on-one instruction to seniors at his local care community. His work building this program reflects the same attention to underserved populations that runs through his healthcare policy research. Daniel is among the most accomplished young trial advocates in the country. As President and Lead Attorney of his high school’s Mock Trial team, he earned Outstanding Trial Attorney honors at the San Diego County High School Mock Trial Competition and led the program to a Top 6 finish in California. In 2026, he was selected to compete in the Gladiator 1-on-1 Mock Trial World Championship held at Drexel University's Kline School of Law, a distinction earned by fewer than 0.01% of competitors worldwide.

Daniel is completing his undergraduate studies at Duke University with the goal of attending law school and becoming a patent attorney.
