Dmitry is an accomplished patent agent having significant scientific and regulatory expertise in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical, chemical, IT and mechanical arts. Prior to joining our firm, Dmitry worked for several years in a highly-regarded Russian law firm where he prepared and prosecuted a multitude of utility patent applications in both the United States and Russia. He has coordinated the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in many foreign jurisdictions, and has prepared Freedom-to-Operate and patentability opinions for his clients.

Dmitry is included in the IAM Patent 1000-The World's Leading Patent Professionals (2019-2020). He also served as a primary reviewer of U.S. PCT patent applications related to biotechnology and pharmaceutical inventions, preparing International Search Reports and Written Opinions.

Dmitry has extensive research experience in the life sciences and healthcare fields and is an author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in international journals. He was a regulatory scientist at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, Office of Biotechnology Products), evaluating potential problems that therapeutic proteins may face during manufacturing and storage. Before that, he was a postdoctoral scientist at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.

Dmitry is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biophysics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Russia, and received a B.S., Applied Mathematics and Physics from MIPT, with honors. He obtained a Regulatory Affairs Certification from Regulatory Affairs Professional Society showing general knowledge about regulations of drugs, biologics and medical devices.
