Frank is a senior patent agent having both rich experience and deep knowledge in cutting-edge technologies and US patent law. He has more than 15 years of intellectual property experience in both international law firms and in private practice. After completing a postdoctoral assignment with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, Frank practiced patent law in nationally renowned law firms for more than 10 years. While practicing in those firms, he directly worked with the greatest scientific minds and attorneys from Apple, Google, Facebook, Oracle, Intuit, Synopsys, and the University of California at Berkeley, San Diego and Davis, among others.
Frank actively procures patents for startup companies in the United States, Canada, and China, and counsels those companies regarding patent strategies with the aim of protecting their most valuable assets while significantly increasing their market valuations. His technical interests are in artificial intelligence (AI)/Deep Learning technologies applied to biomedical and healthcare-related applications.
Frank holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and an M.S. degree in Physics from the University of Minnesota. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics from Beijing Polytechnic University. Frank is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
